Celebrate the end of summer with a favorite tradition—the Arthur J. Ladrigan Swim Races and Family Fun Day at Bayley Beach—on Sunday, September 7. This event brings the community together for a morning of open-water races and classic beachside fun.
The day kicks off with the Lighthouse Race, a one-mile swim from the iconic Green’s Ledge Lighthouse to shore.
Next up is the Buoy Race, a shorter swim from the buoy back to the beach, and then the Children’s Swim Races, grouped by age and held in shallow water parallel to the beach—perfect for our youngest Rowatonites!
After the races and a brief competitor celebration, the fun continues with beach games for the whole family, including a tug-of-war, pie-eating contest, and the always-popular egg toss!
Details:
- All swimmers must be accompanied by a kayak escort
Whether you’re racing, cheering, or just enjoying the day by the water, this is a great event to close out the summer season. For more information, please contact Craig Coleman (csc7675@gmail.com
